jg co. & communications is a multidisciplinary practice working within the creative industry.

The practice name has been through a series of mutations as we believe that it is one of the caracteristics of a creative practice.

Our first name was joe’s garage co. & communications a name created in the early 90′s as an influence from Frank Zappa Joe’s Garage double album.

joe’s garage co. & communications wasn’t a direct tribute to the album but rather to Frank Zappa artistic legacy.

At the time of our incorporation as a limited company we decide to register it as jg co. & communications.

In the  early 2011 we designed our latest version: jhey! gi co. & communications as a design campaign of the company identity.

We consider ourselves partlly a social enterprise because rather than working towards profit we do towards surplus which means towards the budget need for the accomplishment of jg’s  development plan.

We are not a vonluntary organization either, we work to attain our objectives & maintain a standard of what we believe is a good standard of life but we  do not work for profit.

We envision abundance rather than materialism, a concept which we believe would take a certain amount of time to be proven true as a good standard of life is a term which varies depending of the historic, social & cultural context.

It is also not a vulgar sense of pity but rather a visionary approach which believes that the cause of violence, crime and many distress in the world greatest cities , is a reflection of decisions which mostly favour corporative interests which has in a year alone a  market capitalization of more than 7 trillion dollars which none of it is directed to any local communities needs but  rather towards private shareholders interests.

If there isn’t  social active vision from the private sector, the present  situation as it seens  favour only the status-Quo.

jg co. & ommunications are aware about this very delicate & sensitive issue  which is a world issue, and our commitment is to use our skills and abilities to become sustainable as a company as to  benefit disadvantages communities, local or anywhere in the world.

Our surplus percentage table has been designed particularly to bring clients an awareness of our interest to invest in projects which we believe ‘boost up’ communities through opportunities.

CIC companies legal structure;  Co Op ethnic principles as to SE -Social Enterprise policies has all had an influential impact towards jg co. & communications formation as a company.

We are an alternative enterprise, interested to work within social issues but not having to comply to specific legal requirements or be associated to any specific code.

Our request is not to take our development plan as an ofence but we believe in company identity, and our strategic development contains  design and private social development activities as part of our decision making process.

The social term is a very difficult issue to work with.

jg co. & communications believes it is a matter of vision and financial sustainability. If the ultimate aim is not profit, jg co. & communications must be able to generate the necessary surplus.

The financial surplus  in that sense is simply to carry its forecast activities to its conclusion as a service.

Contemporary technology & the idea of  single, independent organizations which design, manages and coordinate its projects, offering their skills toward the complement of its strategic development with a social vision, are  jg co. & communications approach as a  contemporary practice.

eleven11+ plus event whole activity is  a combine effort of Britain and Brazil as our first practice, our main project, after incorporation.

eleven11+ plus has designed as part of its project development our Community Project Proposal; – an in-house production team where our disciplines is going to offer apprenticeship/group activities opportunities to students of Objective 2 Wards as to ICT Implementation and communities amenities provision.

***unfortunately our Community  Project Proposal has been suspended for a lack of community feedback, financial support and schedule issues.

jg co. & communications hopes to generate enough surplus so that sometime in the future some similar approach could be adopted privately in any other community.***

Our online activities which is an almagamation of a variety of online services are also in  development process and updated regularly.

jg co. & communications development plan intends to design our own IT infrastructure and has been working with Linux kernewith  JGigantic, jg’s software & IT Infrastructure design discipline which through its educational plan, intends to bring the awareness of Linux as the main program language used by jg co. & communications  as  to  become a self-managed portal.

Linux is an operating System OS and are usually misunderstood by computer users. It was initially created to promoted the concept of free and open software.

Most softwares companies all uses a version of Linux and releases commercial software which seek to make a profit on selling and supporting their distributions of Linux. Called distros.

Created by a Finland designer called Linus Torvalds  it was developed in Helsink University by 1991.

Microsoft sees Linux as the single biggest threat to its business for one simple reason, ‘since no one owns Linux, it’s not something they can just buy up in order to destroy,  ‘a tactic Microsoft commonly employs to get rid of its competition as it was revealed in the DOJ anti trusting hearings 1998′.

‘Rather than deal honestly with genuine competition, Mcrosoft choose to bash Linux and its all non commercial approach.’

Ironically, the fact that Microsoft feels it is necessary to take the low , unfair road against Linux only helps to substantiate it as a serious operating system, capable of providing stable, scalable, secure servers for any enterprise.

Many does believes that Bill Gates could be one of the greatest contributor for Linux development of  non commercial software & its evolutionary approach through education for the people.

Our currently site, the one  you are currently reading, gives you an idea of what is to become jg co. & communications portal, offering sponsors a platform for advertisement. To clients our artistic portfolio, our in-house  merchandise products, our music production catalogue, design, education resources and an exclusive transparent membership project support scheme which intends to offer to the public in general an opportunity to  participate with jg co. & communications in our  communities projects as to help us deliver our projects and its forecast activities.

We are at moment in development of eleven11+ plus event merchandise design & production, our circuit infrastructure (Project Victoria Regia) research study, eleven11+ plus tour schedule, our Film Documentary, exhibition plan and our income & expenditure report .

We are also  working with the design of our web system maintanence costs and our hardware & software specifications which is jg co. & communications Software & IT Infrastructu JGigantic jg co. & communications software and It Infrastructure design discipline.

We expected to be online with a new site soon.
